Review process

This journal uses a single-anonymous model of peer review. The author does not know the identity of the reviewers, but the reviewers know the identity of the author.

The assigned Editor will review the article against the referees’ comments on the original text and indicate to the author if there are any outstanding queries. Where a major rewrite has been requested, a resubmitted article may, at the Editor’s discretion, be returned to one or more of the original referees for further comment and reassessment and further modification may be requested. Whilst the reworking of any article should involve an iterative discourse with the assigned Editor, it is possible that the article may be rejected at this stage.
Appeals

To appeal an editorial decision, please contact the Editor (at editors@prehistoricsociety.org) and specify the reason for your appeal.

Your appeal will be reviewed by the Editor and/or an Editor who did not review the manuscript. The final decision regarding your appeal will rest with the PPR Editor and Editorial Board.
