VOLUNTAS: International Journal of Voluntary and Nonprofit Organizations is the official journal of the International Society for Third-Sector Research (ISTR). VOLUNTAS publishes international and interdisciplinary research focusing on nonprofit and voluntary action, including issues related to, but not limited to, nonprofit- and non-governmental organizations, volunteering, philanthropy, and civil society. The journal includes full-length research manuscripts and book reviews.
VOLUNTAS welcomes submissions grounded in diverse theoretical frameworks and methodological approaches provided the research substantially advances knowledge in the field of nonprofit and voluntary action and is relevant to an international and interdisciplinary audience. As a forum for worldwide research, the journal seeks to showcase academic work in a style that is accessible to practitioners and policymakers.
