Although there are studies on ageist attitudes and perceptions of quality of life (QoL) among elderly people, no publications exist that compare ageist attitudes and QoL perceptions among elderly people who live in private sector sheltered housing (PRSSH) and in the community.

To map the differences and understand the relations between QoL and negative social perceptions of one’s own age group among older adults, living in PRSSH and in the community.

(1) To examine if there are differences in ageist attitudes and perceptions of quality of life (QoL), and

(2) to understand the role of QoL in explaining ageist attitudes among these two groups of elderly people.

The sample included 126 participants, aged 64–94, who live in PRSSH or in the community. The participants completed Fraboni et al. scale of ageism, a QoL inventory (SF-36 inventory), which provides scores on measures such as physical functioning, mental health and social functioning, and answered demographic questions.

Multivariate analyses of covariance (MANCOVA) partially supported our hypotheses that elderly people who live in PRSSH will demonstrate more ageist attitudes towards people of their own age, and report a lower QoL than elderly people who live in the community.

Gender also had a distinctive effect on ageism and QoL among individuals in PRSSH. These findings were supported by regression analyses.

Although PRSSH may offer luxurious living conditions, the current study shows that living in an age segregated environment, may trigger negative self-perceptions of old age and decrease QoL.

Selfie attitude testing of 157 respondents-students, and internet resources topical data analysis were done.

Behaviour models were rubricated, design and content, causes, clinical-psychological description, selfie-phenomenon prevalence were clarified. It allows to state selfie-addiction specific key symptoms, conforming to ICD-10 diagnostic criteria for addiction states:

– selfie-modifying need causing adrenaline extreme and life threat (analogues: compulsive craving, megadoses, overdosages, amnesias);

– obsessive craving to increase daily number of selfie-shots (tolerance syndrome analogue);

– constant foreshortening change of selfie-interventions (analogue: experimentation with different psychoactive substances, searching behaviour);

– selfie-destruction psychopathological consequences (neurotism, mental and behavioural disorders, group pattern of behavioural selfie-deviations);

– formation of associated comorbid chemical and other substantional addiction forms;

– selfie-deprivation syndrome (analogue: alcohol or drug withdrawal syndrome);

– interdisciplinary range of problems (professional sphere of study for sociologists, psychologists, neurologists, psychiatrists, narcologists, psychotherapists, sexopathologists, lawyers).

Selfie-addiction problem recognition is necessary on the level of inclusion to ICD, that will allow to develop scientific, legal and clinical base for integrated prevention, rehabilitation and treatment.

Methods of assessment of medicated compliance are based upon preceding experience of taking therapy and cannot be applied at the first admission.

To investigate premorbid characteristics in schizophrenic patients and reveal the factors indicating noncompliance.

We used medical record background, interview, Medical Compliance Prediction Scale for Psychiatry for evaluation of the level of compliance, program STATISTICA10 for identification of the average level of compliance in the subgroups of each factor by Kruskal–Wallis test and revealing those subgroups for each factor where the average level of compliance was statistically significantly lower (P < 0.05).

We examined 120 patients (status corresponded to the ICD-10 diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia, age–18 and older, duration of the disease–5 years and more, patients taking typical or atypical antipsychotics or combined therapy) according to factors of premorbid period such as gender, family history of mental disorders, personality traits, nurture in the family, education level, marital status; substance use, age at the onset of disease.

Level of compliance was lower in subgroups of men, patients having several relatives with mental disorders, patients having personality with predominance of irritable and impulsive traits, patients with neglect in parental families, patients with education level lower than high school and with education level higher than bachelor; patients not working or studying to onset of disease; patients who were divorced or widowed; patients living alone; patients using psychoactive substances; patients aged 21 years and older to the onset of disease.

Emotional intelligence (E/I) consists of appraisal of emotion in the self and others, regulation of emotion in the self and others and utilization of emotion in solving problems. Subsumed under these branches are functions such as verbal and non verbal appraisal and expression of emotion and using emotions to motivate as part of the utilization of emotions. (Salovey & Mayer's, 1990). Emotional intelligence components are important in psychological functions such as problem-solving, happiness, stress-tolerance, self-actualization and interpersonal relationship. So the research aimed to investigate role of Emotional intelligence in tendency to addiction.

In sampling process a total of 73 addicted people and 73 non-addicted people were randomly selected. All participants were requested to complete Schutte’s Self- Report E/I Test (SSREIT) (33 item). The test measures ability of E/I in three fields: Appraisal of emotion, regulation of emotion and utilization of emotion. In order to analyzing the data independent T test was used to compare means of two groups.

Findings indicated significant differences between two groups in components of emotional intelligent. Nonaddicted people had more scores in appraisal of emotion, utilization of emotion and general score of emotional intelligence. But there was no significant difference in regulation of emotion in two groups.

Considering the results, it is recommended EI education programs and applying the plans for enhancing emotional intelligent components in order to increasing abilities and competencies in confronting with crisis and bad events and reducing risk of abnormal behaviors, specially addiction.

Pediatric acute onset neuropsychiatric syndrome is associated with various infections (i.e. Streptococcus, Mycoplasma pneumoniae).

We describe a case of PANS associated with mononucleosis, in a patient with Noonan syndrome.

To report a case of EBV-related PANS.

A 13-year-old patient, diagnosed with Noonan syndrome, was referred to the pediatric unit of our hospital in August 2016 because of aggressive behavior and suicidal ideation. He had no personal or family history of psychiatric disorder. His parents and him denied substance abuse. His symptoms had begun abruptly one month prior to our evaluation, after watching an internet video, and consisted in intrusive thoughts and images associated with mental compulsions. Suicidal thoughts and verbal aggressiveness emerged because he felt overwhelmed by these symptoms.

He was initially treated with sertraline 25 mg, and subsequently switched to aripiprazole because of increased anxiety. Throat cultures and anti-streptolysin titer (ASO) were negative, as well as Ig(M) and Ig(G) antibodies for M. pneumoniae. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) were also negative. Epstein–Barr virus Ig(M) and Ig(G) were positive. He continued therapy with aripiprazole 10 mg after hospital discharge with partial benefit.

Epstein–Barr virus infection has been reported to precede various neuropsychological disorders, but to the best of our knowledge, rare cases of PANS following mononucleosis have been described in literature. In our case, psychopharmacological treatment for OCD symptoms was the only treatment performed and led to a partial remission of symptoms.

Mild cognitive impairment(MCI) is considered to be a potential transitional stage between normal cognitive function and dementia.

To determine comparatively the outcome of patients treated with different therapies.

There were included 193 subjects with MCI, aged over 65. They were evaluated after 6 months, 1 year and 2 years of treatment using Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) and clock test.

1. Group A -43 patients treated with piracetamum(daily dose:1600 mg).

2. Group B that comprises 44 patients diagnosed with MCI treated with rhodiola rosea, 2 capsules/day.

3. Group C -41 patients which were treated with antioxidant agents(vitaminE 800ui/day).

4. Group D -36 subjects treated with piracetamum associated with rhodiola rosea and vitamin E.

5. Group E -29 patients without treatment.

Mean of MMSE score at inclusion was 24,49 (SD = 2,1). After 6 months of treatment MMSE score improve in groups treated with 1,35 points in group A, 1,41 for group B, 1,12 points for group C, 1,18 points in group D and in group E we observed an impairment with 0,52 points. in groups A, B, C and D after 1 year of treatment the improvement is with 2,07; 2,03, 2,68 and 3,03 points comparing with the impairment in group E of 1,69 points. Evaluation after 2 years of treatment show a better improvement for group D (3,3 points), followed by group C (2,63 points), group B (2,43 points) and group A (2,23 points) and a greater impairment in group E (2,49 points).

MCI has a better evolution in group treated with a combined therapy comparing with groups treated with monotherapy and in group E the patients present an impairment of cognitive function.

Fibromyalgia is a chronic disease. This diagnosis has been controversial in scientific society. However, there is one fact: there are women who feel not only uncontrollable and non-specific body pain, but also psychological symptoms.

To compare the efficacy of online sessions versus in onsite sessions. To demonstrate that online mindfulness sessions could help to reduce pain in patients with a diagnosis of fibromialgya.

A website created to give education and advice to women with fibromyalgia related to the disease was used as a platform to offer online mindfulness sessions.

Two hundred and thirty-four patients with fibromyalgia asked to participate in the online sessions, but only 13 were included in the study. Nineteen other women received onsite mindfulness sessions. Patients were evaluated before and after intervention. Two analyses were undertaken: intragroup and intergroup.

No differences were found between online mindfulness session and onsite mindfulness session. In both cases, an improvement in the questionnaire scores was demonstrated. Mindfulness as a kind of psychotherapy helped patients to control pain and symptoms of anxiety.

The new ICTs offer a huge of possibilities in medicine and mental health. With respect to psychiatry, not only intervention, like psychotherapy, can be offered but also psychoeducation. However, there are factors such as age and educational level that make online intervention difficult.

In the near future, most people will interact with technology and it would be easier to supply online interventions and psychoeducation e-patients already exist, so e-doctors and e-psychiatrists should be online soon.

To obtainconsensus from non-consultant hospital doctors and consultants indeveloping a eLearning module for teaching non-consultant hospital doctorsabout delirium

1) A questionnaire to assess knowledge regarding deliriumwas administered to Medical NCHDs and toPsychiatry NCHDs. A 50 minute teaching session was provided to the PsychiatryNCHDs, which included an existing e-learning module for undergraduateson delirium developed in University College Dublin(UCD). Followingthis feedback was obtained regarding the module and what changes would berequired for it to meet the training needs of non consultant hospital doctors.

2) In the first step of the DELPHIprocess, feedback from medical consultants was obtained in relation to thethemes and topics to be included in the delirium e-learning module.

•In the first iteration of the DELPHI process, both NCHDs and Consultants identified relevant learning outcomes for an eLearning module on delirium for postgraduate medical trainees.

The next iteration of the DELPHI process will refine the themespreviously identified in order to achieve consensus among the NCHD andconsultant groups surveyed. This will be the basis for the design of aneLearning module about delirium.

Although screening instruments for autism spectrumdisorders (ASD) are widely used, none have been simultaneously evaluated in anoutpatient setting in which the instruments are commonly used.

To assess if the reported high psychometric propertiesof screening instruments for ASD in adults also apply to the naturalistic outpatientsetting.

We tested the Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale(RAADS-R) and two short versions of the Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ), the AQ-28 and AQ-10 in 210 patients referred for psychiatric assessment and 63 controlsin six outpatient settings in the Netherlands. Assessing clinicians were blind tothe RAADS-R and AQ scores. At the end of the study, the clinical diagnosis (ASDor no ASD) was related to the RAADS-R and AQ-scores collected prior to the assessments.

Of the 210 patients, 139 received an ASD diagnosis and71 received another psychiatric diagnosis. While the clinical groups differedfrom each other and the control group in their scores on each of these threeASD measures, the percentage correct diagnoses was rather low (RAADS-R 68%,AQ-28 and AQ-10 61%). Both the sensitivity and specificity of each of theseinstruments was insufficient, where the sensitivity of the RAADS-R was thehighest (73%) and the AQ short forms had the highest specificity (70 and 72%).

None of these instruments have a sufficient predictivevalidity to be used to predict clinical outcome in out-patients settings.

Develop a cross-cultural translation, Swedish to Spanish, of TOOL questionnaire - a previously validated instrument to assess the impact of adverse effects (AE) on the health utilities and health related quality of life (HRQoL) in patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

TOOL questionnaire has 8 attributes and 4 levels per domain: mood (anxiety and depression), function capabilities, and AE frequently associated with antipsychotics (fatigue-weakness, weight gain, stiffness-tremor, physical restlessness, sexual dysfunction, and vertigo-nausea). Firstly, 4 independent translators carried out the forward-backward translations. Next, draft version was reviewed by an experts panel (5 psychiatrists & 1 GP specialized in HRQoL) and tested in 40 stable patients (20 schizophrenic & 20 bipolar). Comprehension and importance (C/I) of each item were evaluated by a Likert scale ranging from 0 (lowest level) to 4 (highest level).

3 items should be modified to facilitate comprehension: mood, physical restlessness and vertigo-nausea. However, C/I of items mean scores were respectively: mood (3.50/ 2.37); function capabilities (2.58/ 2.03); fatigue-weakness (3.58/ 2.55); weight gain- (3.75/ 2.87); stiffness-tremor (3.65/ 2.61); restlessness (3.37/ 2.62); sexual dysfunction (3.39/ 2.51) and vertigo-nausea (3.56/ 2.44). Only 2 patients (5%) were unable to complete the questionnaire. Internal consistency was high (Cronbach α= 0.87) and neither item ceiling nor floor effects were found.

The Swedish TOOL questionaire was culturally adapted into Spanish. Psychometric analyses are needed to validate this measure in Spain. A multtiatribute utility fuction should be estimated to evaluate AE by using a patients"centered perspective.

The drivers are a central component of traffic system, and their limitations, constraints, needs, motivation, level of alertness, and personality define their behaviours on the road. Understanding the determinants of the driver's behaviour is crucial to find solutions for the serious problem of road accidents.

This study aims to investigate the reliability and the construct validity of the Portuguese version of the driver behaviour questionnaire (DBQ; Reason et al., 1990; Portuguese version: Correia, 2014), using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (EFA and CFA) in a sample of Portuguese population.

Participants answered an online survey including socio-demographic questions and the DBQ. Inclusion criteria were: driving license and regular driving for at least three years and age lower than 75-years-old. The sample is composed of 747 participants [417 (55.8%) women; mean age = 42.13 ± 12.349 years; mean driving license years = 21.30 ± 11.338; mean years of regular driving = 20.33 ± 11.328]. The total sample was randomly divided in two sub-samples. Sample A (n = 373) was used to EFA and sample B (n = 374) was used to CFA.

The most acceptable model was the three-factor model found with EFA, excluding items 1 and 24 (χ2/df = 2.01; TLI = .86; CFI = .88; RMSEA = .05, P = .315). The internal consistency analysis resulted in: infractions and aggressive driving, α = .77; non-intentional errors, α = .73; lapses, α = .71; total DBQ score, α = .84.

These results suggest that the Portuguese version of the DBQ is a valid and reliable measure to assess self-reported driver behaviour in the Portuguese population.
