Since 2017 All AJIL Unbound content is Open Access: made freely available on publication under Creative Commons licencing that allows anyone to read and re-use the material. All content published prior to 2017 is free to access, but not Creative Commons-licenced.

Licensing

AJIL Unbound asks authors to complete an author agreement on acceptance. This notifies authors that their article will be published under a Creative Commons ‘Attribution – CC-BY’ Licence as standard. The CC-BY licence permits unrestricted re-use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. Funding

Gold Open Access publication in AJIL Unbound is wholly funded by the American Society of International Law and Cambridge University Press. Authors are never required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC).
