As the third most common primary brain tumor (~16%), pituitary adenomas are more common in women than in men, and are a known comorbidity of multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 syndrome. Pituitary adenomas are typically categorized into “secretory,” which usually overproduce one or more hormones, or “nonsecretory,” which grow and compress adjacent structures.
