Summary

In this chapter we discuss intravenous drugs used for the induction and maintenance of anaesthesia. We delivered a structured approach to discussing drugs, their mechanism of action, preparation uses and common side effects. We compare and contrast different agents as is often asked in the exam. We go on to discuss the steps and evidence of rapid sequence induction of anaesthesia.
