Chapter 2.11 covers the important topic of anti-coagulation drugs. We discuss in distinct sections anti-platelet agents, heparins and oral anti-coagulant drugs. The oral anticoagulants includes sections on warfarin and direct-acting oral anti-coagulant drugs. We discuss the implications of anticoagulants on the conduct of anaesthesia, and the emergency reversal of some agents.
