In the original publication of their Criticism in Translation piece, the translators state in the introduction that Tanpınar’s 1961 “Antalyalı Genç Kıza Mektup” (“Letter to a Young Girl from Antalya”) is “translated here into English for the first time” (356). After their translation was finalized but before it was published in PMLA, another translation of Tanpınar’s work, by Aysel K. Basci, appeared in the March 2022 issue of the Bosphorus Review of Books.
