Stochastic magnetic field lines diffusion in a toroidal configuration(Tokamak)

Abstract

In this paper, the stochastic magnetic field lines diffusion is studied. Thestochastic behavior of the magnetic fieldlines is described by the generalized mapping to the second order which is derivedfrom the magnetic field linesequations. The diffusion coefficient is calculated analytically using the Fourierpaths technique and the characteristicfunction formalism. Both, they give exactly the same result of the diffusioncoefficient. A numerical determination ofthe diffusion coefficient is also done.
