Extract

Ca bioavailability has been of considerable interest. NRC (1989) expressed Ca requirement as total Ca but assumed an absorptive efficiency of 0.50. To improve the understanding of calcium absorption and excretion in horses, the present study analysed the quantitative calcium metabolism in animals fed different levels of calcium.
