Quantum-size silicon enriched regions were formed in silica porous glassesobtained by three different technologies. Processing in the spark dischargeand carbon reduction of silicon dioxide in the solid phase were performedfor this purpose. All fabricated specimens have been investigated inrelation to their electrical and photoluminescence (PL) properties. Apronounced increase of visible luminescence and single-type changes in thea.c. conductivity were registered in all cases.
