Extract

Small perturbations of the structure and composition of the 90K superconductor Y1Ba2Cu3O7−δ (YBCO) have profound effects on its superconducting properties [1]. In an effort to understand the interaction between the structure of YBCO and its superconducting properties, we have made an extensive investigation of YBCO doped with Fe and Co, using x-ray absorption spectroscopy.
