A numerical model has been developed that predicts the freezing process in a cementitious matrix. Freezing point depression due to pore size characteristics is incorporated into the numerical model. An idealized pore size distribution based on a mature paste with a water-cement ratio of 0.6 was adopted. The pore size range was randomly distributed over the test domain. Results are shown for the advancement of the freezing fronts and the progression of the isotherms.
