Simon Jones drifted into librarianship in the mid-1980s upon discovering that stacking supermarket shelves and serving drinks in dodgy nightclubs was apparently the only career route for someone with an English degree who didn't want to teach. Three years at the House of Commons, two stints with VSO (Kenya and Pakistan) and two and a half years at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert are the noteable roles in a career which now spans fifteen years. Since November 2000, Simon has been Librarian at Pemberton Greenish. He is also Chair of ICLG. Next year sees more change - Simon is going to live and work in New Zealand for a year.
