page 181 note 1 In the only dialogue where I have scrutinised the text, the Gorgias, I think only one of Schanz's own emendations is accepted—viz., 516D τν Μαραθνι (since confirmed by Král's collation of F for the Oxford text). In Smp. 178B, 198A, emendations of Schanz's are accepted with acknowledgement.
