A case of protein-losing enteropathy secondary to constrictive pericarditis in a 3-year-old boy: a rare case report
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 12 March 2025
Abstract
This article presents the case of a 3-year-old boy whose primary symptom was hypoproteinemia. After evaluations at multiple hospitals, he was sequentially diagnosed with protein-losing enteropathy and constrictive pericarditis. Following pericardiectomy, his albumin levels returned to normal. Additionally, a review of several similar cases is provided, with the aim of aiding in the diagnosis of related conditions.
