The President of the United States on May 7, 1951, appointed Charles Cheney Hyde, Edwin DeWitt Dickinson and Francis Biddle to be members of the Permanent Court of Arbitration. Together with Kobert P. Patterson, who has been a member of the Court since October 29, 1948, the newly appointed members will this year nominate candidates to fill six vacancies occurring on the International Court of Justice.
