Introduction
The operating room (OR) in a hospital is a unique environment that contains a great deal of equipment as well as many protocols and rules that impact a BMET. Many types of surgery are performed here. Operating rooms may be located in a hospital, in a free-standing surgery center, or in a doctor's office. BMETs must have a solid and accurate understanding of the operating room in order to perform their job effectively.
