All contributions will be reviewed by at least two referees to ensure both accuracy and relevance. The referees’ reports will provide a basis on whether we accept a paper. Revision is likely before final acceptance by the Editor.
Co-reviewing
Renewable Agriculture and Food Systems allows and encourages the practice of co-reviewing. This entails an invited reviewer working with a more junior colleague to review a manuscript for the purpose of reviewer training.
If you are invited to review a manuscript in Renewable Agriculture and Food System and would like to take advantage of the chance to co-review, you will need to reach out to the journal’s editorial office or the Associate Editor handling the manuscript. Once approved the co-reviewer will receive a separate reviewer invitation from the journal’s submission system and be asked to declare any relevant conflict of interest. You may then collaborate on your reviews being sure to declare you are submitting a joint review under the confidential comments to the Editor section.

Appeals process
Appeals against an editorial decision will be considered under exceptional circumstances only. Any appeal should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief via the Editorial Office (rafjournal@cambridge.org) and must be received within 3 months from the date of the rejection letter. Such appeals must state clearly the grounds for the appeal. Uninvited resubmissions will not be considered.
If you have any other concerns about the handling of a manuscript or editorial processes of the journal, please contact the Editorial Office at: rafjournal@cambridge.org or the journal’s publisher, Cambridge University Press, at publishingethics@cambridge.org.
