The fine curve graph of a surface was introduced by Bowden, Hensel, and Webb as a graph consisting of essential simple closed curves in the surface. Long, Margalit, Pham, Verberne, and Yao proved that the automorphism group of the fine curve graph of a closed orientable surface is isomorphic to the homeomorphism group of the surface. In this paper, based on their argument, we prove that the automorphism group of the fine curve graph of a closed nonorientable surface $N$ of genus $g \geq 4$ is isomorphic to the homeomorphism group of $N$.

In this paper, we prove the non-existence of Codazzi and totally umbilical hypersurfaces, especially totally geodesic hypersurfaces, in the $4$-dimensional model space $\mathrm {Sol}_1^4$.

Let $G$ be a group. The notion of linear sofic approximations of $G$ over an arbitrary field $F$ was introduced and systematically studied by Arzhantseva and Păunescu [3]. Inspired by one of the results of [3], we introduce and study the invariant $\kappa _F(G)$ that captures the quality of linear sofic approximations of $G$ over $F$. In this work, we show that when $F$ has characteristic zero and $G$ is linear sofic over $F$, then $\kappa _F(G)$ takes values in the interval $[1/2,1]$ and $1/2$ cannot be replaced by any larger value. Further, we show that under the same conditions, $\kappa _F(G)=1$ when $G$ is torsion-free. These results answer a question posed by Arzhantseva and Păunescu [3] for fields of characteristic zero. One of the new ingredients of our proofs is an effective non-concentration estimates for random walks on finitely generated abelian groups, which may be of independent interest.

We establish new results on complex and $p$-adic linear independence on a class of semiabelian varieties. As applications, we obtain transcendence results concerning complex and $p$-adic Weierstrass sigma functions associated with elliptic curves.

Using a recent result of Bowden, Hensel and Webb, we prove the existence of a homeomorphism with positive stable commutator length in the group of homeomorphisms of the Klein bottle which are isotopic to the identity.

The delta invariant interprets the criterion for the K-(poly)stability of log terminal Fano varieties. In this paper, we determine local delta invariants for all weak del Pezzo surfaces with the anti-canonical degree $\geq 5$.

In this paper, we establish a new version of one-dimensional discrete improved Hardy’s inequality with shifts by introducing a shifting discrete Dirichlet’s Laplacian. We prove that the general discrete Hardy’s inequality as well as its variants in some special cases admit improvements. Further, it is proved that two-variable discrete $p$-Hardy inequality can also be improved via improved discrete $p$-Hardy inequality in one dimension. The result is also extended to the multivariable cases.

We show that the group $ \langle a,b,c,t \,:\, a^t=b,b^t=c,c^t=ca^{-1} \rangle$ is profinitely rigid amongst free-by-cyclic groups, providing the first example of a hyperbolic free-by-cyclic group with this property.
