Summary

Two administrations of the Coloured ProgressiveMatrices in Egypt were compared. The first wasadministered to a large, representative nationalsample between 2011 and 2013. The second wasadministered to primary school pupils in villages inMenoufia in northern Egypt in 2017. Adjusting forthe Flynn Effect, the IQ of the rural northernEgyptians was shown to be statisticallysignificantly higher than the national average. Itis demonstrated that this is consistent withregional socioeconomic differences in Egypt, whichstrongly imply that northern Egypt has a higheraverage IQ than southern Egypt.
