Scope of this Special Issue
Trace elements—including iron, zinc, copper, selenium, and manganese—play critical roles in enzyme activity, cellular metabolism, proliferation, differentiation, functional maturation, immune response, and redox balance. Adequate intake of these micronutrients is essential for animal health, while deficiencies or excesses can impair growth performance or even lead to serious health issues.
This Special Issue aims to present cutting-edge insights into the requirements, molecular nutrition, and regulatory mechanisms of trace element homeostasis in sustainable animal production. We also welcome research on emerging methodologies and techniques for studying trace elements in domestic animals.
We hope this issue will contribute to advancing knowledge in these areas. Animal Nutriomics invites the submission of manuscripts, including critical reviews, original research, and methodological studies, for this Special Issue.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Nutrient requirements of trace elements for domestic animals
- Development and application of novel forms of trace elements in animal production
- Molecular nutrition of trace elements
- Trace elements regulation of genetics, epigenetics and beyond
- Metabolism and homeostasis regulation of trace elements
- Pathology underlying the deficiency or overload in trace elements
- Crosstalk between gut microbiota and trace elements
- Emerging methodologies/techniques for the study of trace elements
